FEEDING CHART FOR SHEEP

Optimize livestock nutrition with a tailored approach, incorporating Weideman’s guidance, ensuring ewes, lambs, and rams receive the right feed at crucial stages for robust health and production.

Aspect (RAM) Details (RAM)
Growth and Condition Contains a balanced ratio of proteins, bypass proteins, minerals, and vitamins, as well as trace elements to encourage your rams to perform their duties with enthusiasm.
WHEN? 2 months before the mating season. (It takes about 2 months for sperm cells to be produced)
WHY? – Increase stocking rate and fertility. – Increase twin births – Increase sexual drive and sperm production.
HOW MUCH? 500g – 1000g per day *(If pasture is scarce, feed ad lib with roughage)
Contains sufficient Ammonium chloride to prevent kidney stones.

Aspect (LAMB) Details (LAMB)
Eating Habits Lambs will start nibbling on food after a few days. The faster they start eating, the faster the rumen can develop and support growth.
WHEN? Lambs will start eating a few days after birth before being transitioned to Weideman Voere Full Lamb Creep Feed. The ration contains sufficient energy and proteins to help young lambs grow before the first mating.
WHY? – Develop the lamb’s rumen. – Lambs grow faster and can be weaned earlier.
HOW MUCH? Ad lib

Aspect (EWE) Details (EWE)
RLO Composition RLO is high in energy, as well as natural and bypass proteins to ensure the ewe’s condition and milk production are in optimal condition before and after lambing. Ewes that gain mass during mating are more likely to produce twins. Stocking rate and twin births decrease if ewes lose weight shortly before the mating period.
REMEMBER – The optimal growth of replacement ewes is crucial because the mass a young ewe reaches with its first set of permanent teeth determines its ultimate size and production. – 80% of the fetus’s growth occurs in the last 6 weeks.
WHEN? 6 weeks before and after lambing. • 3 weeks before mating to 3 weeks after mating (Only if pasture is scarce, with pasture, Produksielek can be used.)
WHY? – Higher lamb and weaning percentage – Increase milk and wool production – Improve condition score to optimal – Increase reproductive potential. – Better stocking rate – Higher twin percentage
HOW MUCH? Ad lib as the main feed and 500g-1000g as supplementary feed.

Warning: This food contains NPN sources, adhere strictly to feeding instructions.
